The card contains four hydrophilic polytetrafluoroethylene (PTfE) membrane positions sized for easy sample application and surrounded by a hydrophobic ring to retain analyzed sample within the IR beam. A 2 muL sample volume is recommended in order to assure proper sample application drying and measurement.The Assay-free card can be inserted into the system and analyzed immediately after preparation. The Direct Detect spectrometer has a built in drying system that will automatically dry the sample to the point where it will give an accurate reading. The Direct Detect Assay-free card is intended for a one-time protein application however already prepared cards can be stored and reread later.

The PathHunter F2RL1 Activated GPCR internalization eXpress kit provides an easy to-use cell based assay to study drug candidates (small molecules or biologics) affecting GPCR activation and internalization. This kit uses EFC technology to measure ligand-induced internalization of F2RL1 via detection of localization to the early endosome. The included cell line overexpresses EA-tagged β-Arrestin-2 as well as a ProLink-tagged early endosome protein and untagged F2RL1. Upon ligand-induced receptor activation, β-Arrestin-2 is recruited to the activated GPCR and the resulting F2RL1-arrestin complex is internalized to the early endosome, leading to production of EFC signal. eXpress kits are a convenient, ready-to-use format which contains all materials needed to run the assay, including single-use vials of cryopreserved cells, cell plating media, detection reagent, and assay plates.
